We went back through the first chapters of THE LAST DRAGON MAGE, reworked the flow, added new material and rebuilt parts of the story to create the version we wanted to exist from the beginning.

Dragons.

Old magic.

Very questionable life decisions.

And a war that is getting considerably larger.

But there's one more reason to watch until the end.

Lyra is dead.

Unfortunately for everyone involved, that doesn't seem to have simplified the situation.

Vael wants the armor.

The Guardians want it back.

Oran wants Lyra.

And AEGIS has finally decided that perhaps sending one ship to Nocturna wasn't enough.

THE SILENT VEIN expands the conflict beyond Lyra and Vael.

Human reinforcements have arrived.

Ancient bioships are waking.

And the connection between Oran, Vael and the First Vein may be considerably more dangerous than anyone aboard AEGIS Prime realizes.

For twenty-six days, AEGIS Prime had been the only human light in Nocturna's sky.

At 03:17, five more appeared.

The crew applauded when the reinforcement group dropped from transit.

Someone in Engineering opened a bottle they'd been saving since departure.

Twenty-one minutes later, deep-orbit tracking registered movement beneath the cloud layer.

Not aircraft.

Not weather.

Masses.

Large ones.

No engines.

No transponders.

No detectable exhaust.

The first object began climbing toward orbit at 03:41.

Then a second one moved.

Then a third.

Captain Cross ordered weapons ready.

Director Rusk ordered the contacts classified as UNCONFIRMED BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY.

The night-watch officer added one unofficial line before closing the report:

We finally got reinforcements.

I wish the planet hadn't noticed.

We're working on a NOCTURNA DIRECTOR'S CUT.

Like TLDM, the idea isn't simply to stitch episodes together.

We're revisiting the existing material, improving the experience and preparing something extra for the end:

a first glimpse at Chapter 8.

We're also using material that wouldn't necessarily work on YouTube.

Yes.

That includes the darker stuff.

And some fan service.

Obviously.

The plan remains to make the digital artbook available to newsletter subscribers.
