Navigation returned seven stars.

There should be six.

I checked the catalogue twice.

The seventh has no name, no orbital data and no corresponding object in the current charts.

But the ship recognizes it.

When I tried to remove the coordinate manually, Noctilion restored it.

I asked the navigation system when the star was last visited.

It returned a date.

Thirty-seven years before this ship was built.

I ran the query again.

Different date.

Same coordinates.

Then the system added something I didn't ask for:

PREVIOUS CREW: 4

There are only three of us.

— END LOG —

Something beneath Nocturna is waking.

And the deeper Lyra's story goes, the less certain it becomes that humans—or even vampires—understand what this planet actually is.

CHAPTER 8 — THE DEEP CURRENT
